Hannah is a 19 year old Travel enthusiast from North West England who was diagnosed with an unusual case of Bowel Cancer 3 weeks before she was due to leave for Camp America. Originally, she made this blog in order to report on what she’d be getting up to on her 3 month travel experience around america but upon being diagnosed, she’d decided she’d raise awareness on Bowel Cancer in younger patients instead by posting about her cancer experience step by step. She is a fun-loving, adventurous young girl who is obsessed with Disney in every way and tries to go each day with a smile on her face. Of course she has her down days, who doesn’t? But she is a heavy believer on just getting on with it and trying not to waste time dwelling on the unfairity of the situation. She is trying to document every milestone of her experience through treatment, the good and the bad as well as normal day-to-day activities she gets on with as even though she has cancer, she isn’t defined by the cancer.
In her personal life, she has 5 half-sisters (2 on her mothers side and 3 on her dads) and two of which have also had cancer. Watching her sisters Stacy battle Thyroid Cancer 6 years ago and her other sister Katie fight Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia 3 years ago and seeing them come out the other side as survivors has helped her be just as confident and positive as she is now.
